   It takes the character of a forest and a craftsman's individuality to create an authentic log home. Blue Chip Log Homes understands that character and know how to bring its essence to life in one-of-a-kind hand crafted log homes. An understanding of timber is the basis upon which each Blue Chip Log Home takes shape.

   The majority of Blue Chip Log Homes are constructed from native Michigan Red Pine. Following delivery to our log yard, the bark is removed and the logs are peeled by hand with a drawknife to assist in the drying process, and reveal the natural character of the log. Due to our contacts in the timber industry, our customers are afforded the opportunity to select the diameter of the logs to be used in the construction of their home. Presently, Blue Chip Log Logs is able to provide logs ranging from 13 to 24 inches in diameter. Unlike "kit log homes", every full log utilized by Blue Chip Log Homes retains the natural taper and character that gives each home its own unique appeal.
