LOG PACKAGE

   As a log home builder and general contractor, Blue Chip Log Homes typically provides not only the log shell, but the associated finish work necessary to complete the home. However, on occasion a customer may request that we provide only the log work portion of the project. In doing so, the customer assumes the responsibility of finishing the home on their own or retaining the services of a subcontractor(s). Blue Chip Log Homes is capable of shipping our log packages anywhere in the world.

   The following items and services represent the major components typically included as part of a Blue Chip Log Package:

* Pre-Construction Consulting Services
* Perimeter and interior log walls
* Log Roof System
* Log Floor Joists
* Log Posts and Collar Ties
* Log Porch Systems
* All Window and Door Openings Cut and Prepared For Installation
* Log Home Disassembly, Transport,and Reassembly On-Site (Typically 3-4 days)
* Consulting Services Throughout the Project

   Although it is difficult for Blue Chip Log Homes to provide firm cost estimates for log shells due to the variability in design, our experience indicates that a cost of approximately $30.00 per square foot is average. Many factors have a bearing on this cost and include; average log diameter, chinked vs. scribed, complexity of the roof system, porches/decks, number of corners, log stairways/railings, site location and accessibility, etc. Provided Blue Chip Log Homes is supplied with an adequate set of blueprints, a log shell package can generally be completed in 8 to 12 weeks.
