LOG CONSTRUCTION, DISASSEMBLY, TRANSPORT, AND RE-ASSEMBLY

   The majority of homes constructed by Blue Chip Log Homes are completed in what is typically referred to as the "log yard". By maintaining an inventory of hundreds of building logs in the log yard, our log craftsmen are able to select the ideal tree (based upon diameter, length, straightness, etc.) for each specific building application. The log yard also provides our craftsmen with the necessary space to operate the equipment required to safely and efficiently manipulate the logs during the construction process.

   Following the completion of the building structure in the log yard, the individual logs are numbered for future reference, disassembled, loaded on a trailer, and hauled to the customers building site. Upon arrival at the building site the logs are off-loaded and immediately placed in the appropriate position to replicate the log building. Generally, three to four days are necessary to disassemble, load, haul and re-assemble.
